Ashton Beds & Sofas is a family-run furniture business in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, established in 1980. We specialise in bespoke beds, sofas and made-to-measure seating for homes, restaurants, bars, clubs and nail bars. We also supply mattresses.
We work with you on dimensions, fabrics and finishing details, making furniture to suit your space and personal style.
Our furniture is built with solid beechwood frames and a choice of three foam grades, including reflex foam. Our sofas, beds and seating come with a 12-month guarantee, and we use materials that meet the required fire safety standards for their intended use.

Do you deliver?
Yes. Local delivery in Ashton-under-Lyne is free. We can also deliver further afield, with charges depending on your location and order. Contact us to discuss delivery before ordering.
Where are you, and when are you open?
202 Stamford St Central, Ashton-under-Lyne, OL6 7LP. We are open Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 3.30pm, and Sunday, 11am to 3pm.
Where is the furniture made?
Our bespoke furniture is made in Middleton, Greater Manchester. You can view examples and discuss your requirements at our shop on Stamford Street Central in Ashton-under-Lyne.
Is there parking near the shop?
Yes. One hour parking is available near the shop.
Do I need an appointment?
No. You’re welcome to visit during opening hours without an appointment. Come in to see the furniture, explore fabrics and talk through your ideas with us.
Can I see fabric samples in the shop?
Yes. We have hundreds of fabric samples to browse, so you can compare colours, textures and finishes in person before choosing your upholstery.
Will you take away my old sofa or bed?
No. We deliver your new furniture, but we don’t remove existing sofas or beds. Please arrange removal beforehand if you need to clear space for your delivery.
Will it fit through my door or up my stairs?
If you’re local, we can visit your home to measure doorways, stairs and access before making your furniture. This allows us to plan around your space and identify any access restrictions before the build begins.
Do you make seating for businesses?
Yes. We make bespoke seating for restaurants, bars, clubs and nail bars. From individual seats to fitted seating layouts, we tailor the size, shape and upholstery to suit your space and style.
Do you reupholster furniture?
Yes. We reupholster furniture of all kinds, replacing tired fabric and worn foam to give existing pieces a fresh look and renewed comfort. Contact us with photos of your furniture to discuss what you’d like changed.
Can you cut foam to size?
Yes. We cut foam to your required size and shape for replacement cushions, seating and other upholstery projects. We offer three foam options, including reflex foam, which springs back into shape after use. Speak to us about what you need and we’ll help you choose.
Do you sell mattresses?
Yes. We supply mattresses in standard and custom sizes, including sizes for bespoke beds. Tell us the dimensions you need and we’ll discuss the available options.
Can I bring my own fabric?
Yes. You can supply your own fabric for new furniture or reupholstery. Speak to us before buying it so we can discuss its suitability and how much you’ll need.
Can you make a sofa from a photo?
Yes. Bring us a photo of a sofa you like and we can use it as a starting point for a bespoke design, tailored to your dimensions and choice of fabric. We can achieve a similar look, with design adjustments rather than an exact copy.
Do you make headboards?
Yes. We make bespoke upholstered headboards to your chosen size, shape and style. Choose a fabric to complement your bedroom, whether you want a simple finish or a more distinctive design.
Do you make ottoman beds, storage beds and divan bases?
Yes. We make ottoman beds with lift-up storage, divan bases and beds with drawers underneath. Each can be made to your chosen size and upholstered in your preferred fabric, bringing practical storage into a bed designed around your room.
Do you make bar stools, booths and banquettes?
Yes. We make bespoke bar stools, booths and banquette seating for bars, restaurants, clubs and other business spaces. Dimensions, seating layouts and upholstery can be tailored to suit your interior and make the most of the available space.
